MRDoS Documentation

MRDoS is a very simple program that any user can setup and configure with the right information. To get started, you need the following:

  • SSH Server
  • SSH Username
  • SSH Password
  • Remote Desktop PC Address (your office computer's IP
  • Remote Desktop port number (3391 unless otherwise specialized.

  1. Download MRDoS from iqwerx.com.
  2. Run through the install (Next > Accept License > Next > Finish).
  3. Once finished, MRDoS will start and will take a second to set itself up. You will need to click on two dialog boxes which inform you of its progress.

  4. When MRDoS opens its main window, it is ready for action!
  5. You will first need to setup a connection profile. To do so, click on File > Settings on the main MRDoS window.

  6. The Connection Wizard will appear. Start by entering your SSH servername, username, and password.

  7. Click the Test Connection button. This is very important to do if this is the first time you have connected to this SSH server. You must accept a SSH certificate. If this is not done, your future connection attempts will fail.

  8. Once Putty has logged in, you may close the window. Now enter the Internal Hostname. This will be the computer you want to connect to remotely. You may use an IP or Fully Qualified Domain Name here.
  9. Next, you will need to enter the Interal Port. It defaults to 3389 unless someone has changed it.
  10. You may then check the boxes if needed.
  11. You will also need to specify a Local Port. Usually 3391 is perfectly fine.
  12. Once finished, click Save to save the connection information to the configuration file.
  13. Now you may click Connect to establish your Remote Desktop Connection.
